St. Patricks Day

On March 18th, the Mary Agate village hall held its first St. Patrick’s Day event. The hall was decorated with green and gold balloons, tables were covered in green and white check cloth and the Guinness bar was nicely set-up ready to pour the pints. The event started at 7.30 pm and was filled with music, an Irish quiz and plenty of refreshments.

The attendees were greeted with a warm welcome by the event organizers and were given a golden green wrist band to wear, symbolizing their participation in the event. The background music was to the theme of Irish music bands gently setting the mood and tempo for the evening ahead.

There was plenty of entertainment lined up for the evening, our resident Master MC Julian O'Dell did us proud with hosting the quiz and keeping everyone entertained. The Guinness bar was well stocked and in constant demand, keeping our bar staff team Nick and Paul on their toes.

Next years event is already being planned, we will be opening the ticket sales for that event, even earlier then this year. Remember all proceeds go towards the Mary Agate Trust Fund Charity, which in turn gives back to the community.

This years event was sponsored by Guestia Limited, a big thank for their support and contribution. Next year we will actively be looking for more businesses to get involved. Fill free to register your interest, all participation is greatly welcomed.

Also to thank all our guests who turned up to support the evening, there were so many comedy moments of the evening. Copious amounts of Guinness and Prosecco consumed, followed by the late evening munchies, never seen so many bags of Monster Munch consumed in one sitting.

Finally a huge thank you to Nick, Sadie, Lance, Helen, both the Paul's and Julian for their energy and efforts in making this happen. Also to Dale at the Swan for the loan of the PA equipment, Paul.C for the loan of the IT equipment and ongoing IT support throughout the entire evening.
